A sump pump is your basement's last line of defense against water intrusion. When groundwater levels rise during heavy rain or snowmelt, the sump pit collects the water and the pump moves it out of your home before it can cause flooding or moisture damage. For homeowners in Albuquerque, NM with basements or crawl spaces that are prone to dampness, a properly installed sump pump is one of the most important protective measures you can have in place. Water Heater Co. installs sump pump systems sized and positioned correctly for your home's specific drainage conditions.
Installation involves more than just dropping a pump in a pit. The pit needs to be the right size and depth, positioned at the lowest point of the space. The discharge line needs to be properly routed and pitched so water moves away from your foundation effectively. And the pump itself needs to be matched to your home's water volume and recharge rate. We also strongly recommend a battery backup system because power outages and heavy rainstorms tend to happen at the same time, and a sump pump that fails during a flood defeats the entire purpose of having one.
